Details:
Students will all attend the Expo portion of the event, and then break out into classes per age group to attend 3 hands-on STEM activities focused on different types of engineering taught by local engineers!
Our Girls Engineer It! Day includes:
* An Expo where area schools, universities and companies showcase their STEM fields
* Each student participates in 2-3 different age-appropriate activities
* Open to all students Grades 4 – 12 (see activities based on grade below)
* Hands-on activities led by area STEM professionals and enthusiasts
* Commemorative t-shirt and goodie bag
* Free Parent session to support the students w/ their STEM journey

Event Time: 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm, Check-in and Expo opens at 12:30 pm
Online registration closes on Tuesday, March 4th. If online registration is closed, you will need to register the morning-of the event. Please arrive early to allow yourself time to do this.

Childcare available for adults attending this session. Max 2 children for childcare, with 30 spots available total.

Clear Bag Policy:
In the interest of public safety, SCCPSS will implement the following security procedures for major district events. Security procedures will include the use of Metal Detectors and/or Handheld Wand Devices, Bag Inspection, and the enforcement of Clear Bag Requirements.
SECURITY SCREENING NOTICE: All Persons and Packages Are Subject to Search Upon Entry Failure to consent or submit to inspection will result in denial of entry.
NOTICE OF CLEAR BAG REQUIREMENTS: Guests may carry the following style and size bag, package or container into the venue
– Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
– One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
– Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags
**An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.**
PROHIBITED BAGS include but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, nonapproved seat cushions or seatbacks, computer bags, diaper bags, binocular cases, and camera bags.
SEAT CUSHIONS/SEATBACKS: Non-approved seat cushions and seatbacks include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers. Seat cushions and seatbacks must be 16” or less in width with no armrests.
